LAKEWOOD, NJ (October 12, 2015) – GLI President/CEO James Maida will be delivering the keynote address at International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) Annual Conference in Lima, Peru this week. This year’s IAGR conference, held jointly with the International Masters of Gaming Law’s (IMGL) Autumn Conference, focuses on the emerging issues affecting gaming regulators, policymakers and industry executives in global gambling markets, a topic Maida is extremely familiar with.
Maida’s presentation, “Technology and Regulation – Don’t Get Uber’d,” will focus on the intersection between creative disruptive technologies and gaming regulations and how they have become an interesting and complex arena in the gaming industry. He will also cover the speed of new technology innovations as well as the adoption of new technologies within the regulatory framework and what can happen if the regulatory environment does not move fast enough.
GLI has been doing business in Latin America for nearly 20 years. Recently, the company held an extremely successful Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable in Bogotá, Colombia. Ninety-two representatives from 21 different countries, including Peru (where the Roundtable was held the year before), attended, making it the largest Roundtable in the region to date. The two-day, educational event was presented through GLI’s world-renowned GLI University® and free of charge to government entities.
