The Situation

LeetEnt are a London-based B2B Esports platform provider and part of the SNB Group. LeeEnt provides a complete ecosystem for Esports users, combining an established media site with social and regulated betting. The B2B Esports betting engine and widget is the latest addition to this ecosystem, and as a brand-new betting product, they needed to quickly build credibility among potential B2B clients.

The Challenge

Although the LeetEnt team had regulated gaming experience and understood the complexities of certifying software in different countries, they needed a regulated operating partner they could trust to help them scope the project accurately so there were no delays later on.

The GLI team in South Africa were appointed to manage the project with the clear goal of getting regulatory approval and for LeeEnt to go live with their first operating partner.

  • As a start-up gaming product, it was absolutely essential that we selected the right testing partner to work with us. GLI were able to save us time and money by correctly scoping the project at the start and because we were able to use the GLI-33 Standards. We will be constantly adding new products and regulatory features, requiring regular retests from GLI. We are targeting B2B partners in multiple regulated countries and expect specific requirements in each of these countries.

  • GLI is working with more and more start-ups across the globe, and that’s because we have a reputation for scoping and costing products accurately. If the scope is wrong, then clients can face unexpected additional costs and delays, or even worse, they can end up paying for work they didn’t need. In this case, we were able to save the client money and help them get their product to market in a matter of weeks.

The Action

The starting point was the “GLI-33 Event Wagering Systems” standard ,used by regulatory bodies, operators, and industry suppliers across the globe. GLI advised LeetEnt on which parts of GLI-33 they needed to comply with as a third-party gaming platform. This enabled the client to prioritise correctly and get a certified product to market as quickly as possible.

Because LeeEnt were a new client for GLI, there were a lot of questions regarding the scope of the project. GLI pride themselves on getting the scope and pricing right the first time so there are no surprises for the client. Because there was no jurisdiction regulation to test against, the GLI compliance team, together with the technical support team, were able to reduce the initial scope from a full sportsbook certification to just the RGS, saving LeeEnt both time and money.

The Standard

Part of the GLI Standards Series, “GLI-33 Event Wagering Systems” is a technical standard produced by GLI for the purpose of providing independent technical analysis and/or certifications to wagering industry stakeholders wishing to represent compliance for their wagering operations and systems.

The Result

GLI delivered quickly, with prompt feedback on issues during testing, which enabled LeeEnt to go from the initial project scope to a final test report in weeks.
