The annual IAGR conference brings together senior international gambling regulatory leaders and industry stakeholders to connect and discuss industry knowledge and hear from leading experts about known and emerging issues and trends.
As Director of Latin America and Caribbean Government Relations and Business Development, Karen Sierra-Hughes is responsible for developing new gaming jurisdictions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean while driving GLI’s strategy for both regulatory and supplier development. One of her main goals is to help the regions’ government agencies understand the importance of a well-regulated environment by providing valuable information that will lead to developed laws, decrees and regulations. She also analyzes the gaming environment in each jurisdiction to determine the regulatory development opportunities as well as promotes regulatory training in the technical aspects of the gaming industry.
Ian Hughes is Vice President of Global Services for GLI®. He is responsible for directing and overseeing professional services provided by GLI laboratories and providing technical advice and certification services to regulators globally. Hughes has been actively engaged in the compliance of gaming equipment globally for the past 25 years and is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hughes is currently involved in a variety of international projects including working with the Office of Integrated Resort Promotion for the Government of Japan and the advances of Independent Verification and Validation of Software specializing in the gaming industry and the integrity of data.
